Agnes Ann Smith

Agnes Ann Wyatt Smith, age 70, of Taylors, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 26, 2021. She passed peacefully due to complications from breast cancer at her home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Agnes was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 30, 1951, to Clifford Wyatt and Bertha Sikes Wyatt. Agnes was a beloved and devoted caregiver, having served as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Administrator for 50 years in Michigan, Florida and Virginia. She attended Macomb Community College, the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa, having attained a Master’s Degree in Nursing as her highest academic achievement. In 2020, Agnes retired from her lifelong love of nursing to South Carolina to be near family. Agnes loved gardening, traveling, assembling jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Some of her favorite times were spent on the family farm in Tennessee. Her selflessness, steadiness, encouragement and passion for helping others will be missed beyond measure. Agnes was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 40 years, Donald Smith, grandson Camden Smith and mother Bertha “Juanita” Wyatt. She is survived by her four children, DJ (Kiska) Smith of Bothell, WA, Greg (Amy) Smith of Lutz, FL, Matt (Danielle) Smith of Winter Garden, FL, and Melissa (Josh) Sweeting of Travelers Rest, SC. She leaves behind her nine beautiful grandchildren: Carson Smith, Hayden Smith, Allison Smith, Kian Smith, Hadley Smith, Brody Smith, Owen Sweeting, Evan Smith and Peyton Sweeting. She is cherished by her father, Clifford Wyatt, her brother, Cliff (Maureen) Wyatt, and four sisters, Barbara (Dale) Petrowske, Donna (John) Hyder, Marsha (Dallas) Green and Helen (Ernie) McIntosh, along with many nieces and nephews. We rejoice in her life and cherish the lifetime of memories she has given us all. In honor of Agnes’ wishes, a memorial service will be held privately in Pikeville, Tennessee. “Mothers hold their children’s hands for just a little while..
