Calvin Eason Sprouse

Calvin Eason Sprouse, 71, of Piedmont, SC. passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, January 2, 2025, after a fight with many different medical issues. A native of Ashville, Madison Co. NC. He was the son of the late Rome and Georgia (Thomas) Sprouse. He worked as a machine mechanic, auto mechanic and a jack of all trades. He always had a big heart to lend a helping hand to anyone he could. He was a family man with lots of love to give and received it as well. He was always one to brighten your day, he never failed to put a smile on your face or tears down your cheeks from the laughter of his stories. He would always play pranks or have some kind of crazy things to do or say. If you knew him, you know that he was one of a kind. Surviving are his wife, Robin T. Sprouse of the home; one daughter Jennifer Sprouse of Greer; two sons Larry Holcombe (Erin) of Louisiana; Edward Louke of Texas; seven grandsons, Jordan Havens, Cameron Clark, Trenton Clark all of Greer, Derek Harbin (Molly) of N.C., Larry Holcombe Jr. of LA., Jeremiah Lewis (Makenzie) of VA., Justin Lewis of WV., three grand-daughters Jordan Grey of SC., Madalynn Holcombe of LA., Jazsmine Lewis of VA.; one great grand- daughter Zayleigh Lewis of VA; nieces Tina Hostetler (JoJo), Brittany Carter, Denise Sprouse, Ann Sprouse all of SC.; one nephew William Duncan of NC. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents Rome and Georgia Sprouse, Siblings Joyce Sprouse and Tommy Sprouse and a niece Neveah Gore, all of SC.; his maternal grand-parents Eason and Bertha Thomas of NC. and paternal grand-parents Alfred and Flora Black Sprouse of NC. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM at Travelers Rest Funeral Home 113 North Poinsett Hwy, Travelers Rest, SC 29690 Funeral Services will follow in the Chapel at 1:30 PM conducted by Pastor Trey Thompson. Committal and entombment will follow immediately afterward at Mountain View Memorial Park, Travelers Rest, SC. Pallbearers will be Larry Holcombe, Cameron Clark, Trenton Clark, Henry Burch, Harold McGraw, JoJo Hostetler, Micheal Bryant, Alex Burch, Sean Dunn. The family will be receiving friends and family at the home after services.
