Mary Jane Poole

Mrs. Mary “Jane” Poole, age 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Poole was born in Pickens, South Carolina and was the daughter of predeceased Floyd “Skinny” and Leavy “Mae” Guthrie.”, and the wife and blessed help mate of Joseph “Earl” (Joey) Poole. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph “Earl” (Joey) Poole of Travelers Rest, SC. Surviving children include son Floyd “Tiny” Poole (Melissa) of Travelers Rest, daughter Natosha Bailey (Joseph) of Dalton Georgia, and youngest son James “Toby” Poole (Danielle) of Travelers Rest. Surviving grandchildren include Courtney Arnold (Christopher) of Travelers Rest, and great grandchild Riley Mae Arnold due in December 2023. Surviving sisters are Janice Elrod (David) of Central, Tammy Hembree (Bobby) of central, Serecia Laws (Carlos) of Central, Lacinda Snow (Mark) of Travelers Rest. Surviving brothers are Frank Guthrie (Cathy) of Marietta, and John Guthrie of Central. Surviving special nieces and nephews include Patricia Grant (Kevin), Kaden Grant, Michael Grant, and Levi Grant of Marietta, Michelle Guthrie and fiancé Dylan Norris of Greer and Richard Guthrie (Cameron) of Marietta. Mrs. Poole was predeceased by her parents Floyd and Leavy Guthrie, brothers Richard Guthrie, Mike Guthrie, and Jobe Guthrie as well as a sister, Tina Underwood. Mary Jane Poole was a very simple lady, not needing for much. She was a very Holy ghost filled woman, who loved her Lord and Savior. She was a great and loving wife (help mate) to her husband Joseph “Earl” (Joey) Poole of almost 49 years. She was also the best mother to her three kids and spouses, and grandmother to her granddaughter and spouse . She spent her adult life staying at home to raise her three children. All she ever wanted was to have her family beside her. She took in all of her in laws like her own. She needed nothing in life, but her Lord, and her precious family close to her. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM that day at Gap Creek Baptist Church Cemetery 381 Gap Creek Road Marietta, SC 29661
