Walter Franklin Hubbard

Walter Franklin Hubbard, “Frank”, 67 of Greer, was promoted to Heaven on October 10, 2018. He’s now in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Frank was born August 16, 1951 in Anderson, SC to the late William B. and Sally C. Hubbard of Spartanburg, SC. He graduated from Spartanburg High and later Wofford College with a B.A. in Economics. He was a member of the Lake Bowen Baptist Church, Inman, SC. Frank was a dependable, reliable, “behind the scenes” man. A person of many seemingly unrelated talents that enabled him to have not only a successful career in healthcare purchasing but being co-owner of three different businesses- Hubbard’s Brush, Grace Touch Massage, and CCA,LLC. All of his employment and businesses had a common thread of being a service to others. The most notable being the co-founder, with his wife Sandra, of the “Butterfly Ministry for Girls” now known as the “Butterfly Doll Ministry”. This ministry was founded and continues to help minor girls that are in the foster care system throughout the Upstate. Frank, also known as Mr. Bow Tie, learned the skill of dapper dressing and tying bowties while working at Aug Smith Company in Spartanburg. Always attentive to how he looked, he would have his suits hand steamed so that they always looked like they had just come from the cleaners. Frank is survived by his wife and best friend of 23 years, Sandra; his brother, William Brooks Hubbard II (Chip); and his sister, Sally Ann Jones (Hugh). He is also survived by two bonus daughters, Robyn Bivens, her husband Raphael and their children, Preston and Reagan; Hayley Moon, her husband Jamie and their children, Hannah and Ryanne. Frank also had a host of nieces and nephews. Frank enjoyed all aspects of life but most of all he loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He and Sandra would travel to most of their different sporting events throughout the Southeast and he remained an active part of each of their lives and was always available to help in any way he could. Frank always enjoyed a good meal and was a life time member of the Clean Plate Club. It was always open season on anything in the refrigerator or pantry. Frank always had a kind word and touched the life of many. He enjoyed going to family gatherings and social dancing and was also a true supporter of Clemson sports.
