I honestly have to say I am 100% satisfied with the service that we received from travelers rest funeral home. Everything was explained to us step by step in terms that we could actually understand. Chip was wonderful to work with and when I brought our trinkets back to them for our mother's ashes I got a chance to meet Kristy, who was an absolute angel. We sat and talked about numerous things before I left. She even complimented our choice of trinkets. I look forward to picking up our mother's ashes along with the trinkets and hopefully seeing both of them again. In such a sad and difficult situation, I must say that Mr. Chip Howard, Funeral Director of Johnson Funeral Home in Traveler’s Rest, SC, made our experience much easier to deal with due to the personal attention he gave to the Kornacki Family. In helping the family make arrangements for cremation, Mr. Howard could not have been more caring, patient and kind in assisting with some difficult decisions that needed to be made. He made himself available every minute of the day and always made us feel that he was there for us in our time of need. His attention to detail, his professionalism and his kindness to the family was beyond our expectations and we would like to thank Mr. Howard and Johnson Funeral Home from the bottom of our hearts for making our heart wrenching experience into a heartwarming experience.

I just wanted to write a quick review for anyone who has recently lost a loved one and is looking for somewhere to set up an amazing service. My condolences go out to anyone who has the misfortune of having to search for funeral homes in the first place; However, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone that may be considering it. The ceremony was beautiful and everyone did their best to make the situation as beautiful as possible while we were mourning the loss of my grandmother. The flowers that were sent to my grandmother following her passing were beautifully placed around the building, and we were able to bring family pictures and set them up wherever we wanted them. There’s plenty of space and the director was extremely kind. I just wanted to write this review to help him and anyone else looking for a nice funeral home out.

We recently had to plan a funeral for my mother-in-law. Chip and John were there for us and helped us plan every detail of the funeral. The viewing and the funeral was so very nice. The last thing a family wants to worry with at a death of a loved one is money. The prices they offer were so affordable and we were able to have enough money left over to buy her a beautiful marker for her grave. Chip Howard and Heather made sure to make us feel comfortable, cared for, and completely heard from the first meeting to the final moments after the burial of our mother. Chip was there for everything we could have possibly needed him for and more. He made himself available for anything we wanted or needed with kindness that is rare to come across these days. He accommodated us and our needs at every single turn. I honestly could go on all day about how wonderful these people are, the entire team. It made burying Mama just a little easier to have such kind, compassionate, and talented individuals helping along the way. I was honored to meet the woman who prepared Mama and helped her put some individual last touches (at my request), which was of course honored by Chip. We received calls about every important detail, and were taken care of to the highest degree in every regard. I wish I could express to you how comfortable they made me feel. I will never forget these incredible souls and the extremely hard job they do. Anyway, choose Johnson, you will not regret it.

Mr. Howard has assisted me with a few funerals. He was always caring and patient in dealing with family. I know a lot of people don't like to talk about money when it comes to funerals, but it can matter. Mr. Howard's prices are reasonable and he makes settling things simple. I would definitely use his funeral home if I need to in the future.

We recently had to bury our Dad which is something that is never easy for any family. We live a 1 hour and 1/2 away which made it a challenge but Chip Howard and Ches Gilbert went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated which does not happen much these days. The prices were amazingly affordable all the staff were understanding and showed respect to and for the family. Chip Howard helped us plan the funeral took the time to explain and made sure we didn’t have any questions and he did not make us feel rushed or a bother, He made us feel like family. Chip Howard and Ches Gilbert were the directors we had at the graveside and both were very respectful and professional. I would highly recommend them!

When my mother passed away two weeks ago, I initially called a well known Greenville large funeral home to handle the arrangements. I was extremely disappointed by the rather cold manner in which I was treated. There was absolutely no compassion or empathy. I was left with the feeling that because this was to be a simple cremation, in other words not an elaborate full service funeral, that my business was neither desirable nor important. My husband and I decided to contact Travelers Rest Funeral Home, since we live nearby in Travelers Rest. We were immediately impressed with Chip Howard and his staff. We were treated with compassion and empathy right from the start. I was reassured that the arrangements we requested for my mother would be handled properly, and that in death my mother would be treated with respect and dignity. I was not disappointed. I highly recommend Travelers Rest Funeral Home, especially for those who desire a more personal and compassionate atmosphere in dealing with the loss of a loved one. Chip and his staff allowed me the peace of mind to begin the process of grieving the loss of my mom.

Unfortunately, my family and I are not immune to unexpected and expected deaths that have occurred in our lives. But without a doubt, I will never have to be concerned with which funeral home and services I will ever need again. I've been served in this way several times thru other facilities but by far and with no question, Travelers Rest Funeral Home surpasses all. You can not ask for better people to help you through one of the hardest times in your life! The director Chip Howard is meant for this line of work. When you sit down with him to deal with all the logistics of the funeral/cremation he makes it as painless as possible! The death of a loved one is not an easy thing thing to go through. I worked with my friend for years and he is the best funeral director I ever had the pleasure to work with. Many times we battled the bad but in the end good overcame evil.
